Beth Haines

Beth Haines started her karate journey at age nine, training with Chief Instructor Sensei Paul Wood. She originally started karate as a way of nurturing confidence and skill development as well as to keep fit and healthy.

She decided almost straight away, as just a red belt, that she wanted to be a karate instructor when she grew up. At age 12, she began assisting in classes to develop her skills as a coach. This led to training and assisting 6 times a week to achieve her black belt at aged 15 and gain valuable experience in teaching karate to a wide variety of students. Beth achieved her 2nd Dan, 3 years later, at 18 and launched her first classes at the same time. She also spent numerous years competing within both sparring and kata, and has experience on the South West regional team, taking gold for her region in the 15-16 year category.

Her love for sport and fitness also led her to become both a qualified level 2 gym instructor and level 3 personal trainer giving her further experience within the fitness industry. She has worked with hundreds of adults in gyms, putting her coaching skills to good use.

Beth now teaches 5 times a week across numerous locations, sharing her love for karate to the next generation.
