The OSTMA Lions karate programme is a special programme designed for children aged 4 & 5 years. This fun-filled introduction to martial arts has a big emphasis on life and safety skill development whilst demonstrating that fitness is fun.

Some of the safety skills involved include fire safety, first aid, health, home safety, traffic safety, bully proofing and stranger awareness. Life skills include Balance, Co-operation, Co-ordination, Listening, Memory and Nutrition. These skills help the students become well rounded by promoting the child's social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth.

The focus of the OSTMA Lions karate class is to develop fundamental basics. Therefore, we teach very few of the martial arts skills that you will see in older children's programmes.  Instead, we focus on the skills they need BEFORE entering the older classes. Our primary objective is to get the students involved, giving 100% effort, having fun and playing. Of course, the OSTMA lions curriculum is age and ability appropriate so that their “play” is actually their “work”

All classes are aimed at teaching self-discipline and respect, whilst also gaining fitness and having lots of fun. We use positive teaching techniques and methods that help to boost your child's confidence and self esteem, helping them both in school and life.

The OSTMA Lions karate programme is designed to catch all children early and help them develop terrific life skills that will make them not only a better citizen but a healthier one as well.
